Choosing the Lineup IV - The Playmakers

Lets hope that his injury (picked up against Laos) is not serious

The Three Musketeers!

The 3 attacking midfielders to start for the Lions literally pick themselves. There is no dispute or question on who should play behind the lone striker.

Ridhuan Muhammad - The Singaporean Wizard

That is the nickname for Ridhuan Muhammad at his Indonesian Club, Arema Indonesia. So adored by the Aremania that Ridhuan has a very own tshirt made by the fans for him. For your information as well, he is also one of the fastest wingers in Asia and coupled with his willingness to track back and win back the ball for the team, he definitely is an asset to the Lions. A point to note, he has been in a free scoring form this season, notching in 5 goals in 8 games from his right midfield position!

Khairul Amri - 2007 Suzuki Cup Hero

His goal against Thailand in the second leg final will forever be remembered by the Singapore die hard fans. Khairul Amri too is another player to play in the Indonesian league and what an impact he has made. In his debut, he scored a volley after controlling the ball in mid-air, instantly becoming a hit with the Balikpapaners. If not for his unfortunate encounters with injuries, Khairul could have achieved much more. Nevertheless, I would not argue the fact that he could be Singapore's best player right now. Do not forget that he is one player who can turn the game to the Lions favour at any point in time. Just ask the Tampines Rovers fans if you don't believe me!

Shahril Ishak - The Captain!

An astonishing season that saw him score 17 goals and the Player of the Year award, Shahril Ishak looks set to captain the team in Hanoi. His best position of course is also behind the Striker where he is given the freedom to roam around, create spaces and chances for his teammates as well as getting into goal-scoring positions. He has matured alot ever since he joined Home United from Young Lions and lets hope that his sizzling form can win us the title!

Shahdan Sulaiman & Fazrul Nawaz - Able Backups

Coach Raddy will have the luxury of fielding Shahdan Sulaiman and Fazrul Nawaz in the case of any injuries (lets hope that it wil not happen) to the three first choice playmakers. Both gifted with the ball on the ground, they are also quick and pacy. One similar flaw between them is that finishing touch, something that all three (Khairul, Shahril & Ridhuan) possess.

Probable midfield Lineup : Mustafic, Shahdan, Ridhuan, Khairul Amri & Shahril Ishak
