This is a story about a worker in a company, a loyal one that is.
Many many years ago, company SgF was in tatters after it was betrayed by their long time business partner, MyF. So, the company SgF decided to rebuild and employed many workers and one by the name of SgFan. Older workers have decided to quit and not join the rebuilding process but were always in the loop for news to come back if times were better, in times like those with MyF.
So for 17 long years, SgF has slowly rebuild, encountered a few hiccups here and there and won many big clients as well and awards along the way. The journey for the company was not a smooth one but the many workers in the SgF believed. Some of the workers in SgF were not able to cope and were either forced to quit or resign as SgF continued to search for other workers who could contribute. SgF was making a name internationally and especially in the region.
And all these while, SgFan was working really hard and showing great loyalty , ignoring the fact that he is just a worker in the long chain of command.
One day, SgF met up with long time business partner MyF for coffee. Coincidentally, it was during one of those times that SgF was not doing so well while MyF had flourished after years of mediocrity since betraying SgF. They chat and came out with a new business plan as they tried to find reasons why they should work together again. Marriage of convenience as the laymen would call it.
So a deal was signed and news broke out regarding this big collaboration.
Workers in the SgF were divided on the issue. Some were pissed off, some were happy but none more so as reserved as SgFan who decided to wait and see. In the mean time, SgFan came to work everyday and continued being loyal.
Hearing of this merger, some of the ex-workers applied back to be part of the company and all were then welcomed with open arms by SgF. Three influential ex workers by the name of Terry, Nigel and Paul were also hired even after the criticisms they have made about SgF while they were unemployed. And to the horrors of the workers in the SgF, especially SgFan, the three guys, Terry, Nigel and Paul were made heads of department.
Cunning as they are, they further divided the workers and ostracized those who were against SgF working with MyF because they believed it would be detrimental to their company. SgFan though, because of his loyalty persevered on and stayed loyal even though there was much resentment in him.
So as the business deals went on, Terry, Nigel and Paul gave bonus, rewards and praises to workers who have decided to be on their side while the SgFan suffers because of his beliefs.
Meanwhile, SgF decides to just wait and see and see. Strangely, they have decided to allow Terry, Nigel and Paul to run the show and continue the divide as they make profits and abuse their power.
SgF thinks that even if the project fails, SgFan will always be there to work because that has been the case all along.
In an ideal world, SgFan will get his revenge. But that is in the ideal world.
In the real world, the SgFan cries of the betrayal and may possibly quit this whole saga of betrayal and deceit one day. ....... But, will that day ever happen?
